what they thought only their medicines
could accomplish. So that`s the situation right now. The doctor said, "I don`t
know what you`re doing, but whatever it is, just keep on doing it!" So I will
continue like this for approximately one more month.
In the meantime, you ask what you can do for me. All of you should serve as a
good examples of Krsna consciousness. Become steady in Krsna consciousness and
don`t allow external changes, which will always come, to adversely affect your
deeper commitment-- to glorify and hear about the Lord, each according to your
individual means. Use the knowledge gained from your experience and from what
you have learned in your studies for helping others to remain strong in Krsna
consciousness. This takes time according to each of your capacities, and I do
not expect any immediate results. But when you set a good example, others will
gradually notice, and they will want to learn what you`ve learned to come up to
that standard. Example is also preaching, and it should come "before" you preach. Not after.
But don`t try to flaunt your example. Then it will not have any affect because
it will be too motivated. Don`t think, "Oh my Guru Maharaja wants me to be a
good example, so I have to get other devotees to notice me and what I`m doing.
Otherwise, how can I be good example?" No. This is not the type of thinking you
should have. Just BE a good example. Everything else will follow. When you are
Krsna conscious you don`t have to prove it to others. It is self-evident.
Automatically devotees will notice-- because you`re not looking for attention.
You are simply looking to please guru and Krsna.
I want to bring up disciples as good examples. Then their preaching and the
help they can do for me will naturally grow from that.
Hoping this meets you in good health.
Your well-wisher,
Niranjana Swami
